# Completing the Checkout Process: A Step-by-Step Guide

## Introduction

This article explores the process of completing the checkout for a shopping cart. It covers the necessary steps and techniques to implement this functionality in a web application. By the end of this article, readers will have a clear understanding of how to integrate a checkout process using `ngx-paypal` and `PayPal`, as well as how to display the items and calculate the total price.

## Step 1: Configuring `ngx-paypal` and `PayPal`

Before proceeding with the implementation, it is important to have `ngx-paypal` and `PayPal` set up in the project. `ngx-paypal` is a package that allows integration of `PayPal` for the checkout process. To install `ngx-paypal`, simply add it to the project's `package.json` file and follow the installation instructions provided in the `ngx-paypal NPM library`.

## Step 2: Injecting the Product Service

To access the items in the shopping cart, the product service needs to be injected into the component. This can be done by adding a constructor and specifying the `ProductService` as a parameter. Once injected, the `ProductService` can be used to retrieve the amount of items in the cart.

## Step 3: Using the "Effect" Reactive Primitive

One of the useful reactive primitives in signals is the `effect` function. This function can be used to log the current items in the shopping cart. By simply calling the `effect` function as a callback, the `ProductService`'s items can be logged to the console. This can serve as a form of debugging, helping track the changes in the cart.

In this lesson, we get a summary of all the items that have been added to the cart, which includes the number of items bought and the cart total.
